Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrij Sybiha has informed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that Russia is planning strikes on Ukraine’s most important nuclear energy facilities as winter approaches.
“According to Ukrainian intelligence, the Kremlin is planning strikes on the most important nuclear energy facilities in Ukraine as winter approaches. First of all, we are talking about the open distribution facilities of nuclear power plants and transmission substations, which are extremely important for the safe operation of nuclear energy,” wrote A. Sybiha. According to the minister, the destruction of these facilities would cause a great risk of a nuclear incident that would have global consequences. Security and intelligence services of Ukraine have already passed on relevant information to partners. The Minister of Foreign Affairs also informed the IAEA about this.
