According to ISW analysts, this is part of a broader strategy to dismantle remaining security frameworks, freeing Russia to act aggressively without oversight. Simultaneously, Kremlin propaganda is crafting a narrative in which NATO and the West are portrayed as existential threats to Russia—classic rhetorical groundwork for offensive action masked as defense.
